The Rainbow Phone – Norway

The Rainbow Phone: Facilitateing phone conversations with, and counteracting loneliness among, adult gay people (lesbians, gays, bi/pan, intersex or transgender folks).

The project exists because we all can feel a sense of loneliness and isolation when we get older – and especially now that the Covid-19 pandemic is isolating us more than usual.

Volunteer!

As a volunteer caller you get connected with one or more people who wants a phone friend. The goal of the Rainbow Phone in Norway is to facilitate conversations with and to counteract loneliness among adult gay people (lesbians, gays, bi / pan, intersex or transgender people).

As a volunteer in the Rainbow Phone you can contribute and make a difference in people’s lives.

All people in Norway can become volunteer rainbow phone friends. As a volunteer in the Rainbow phone friend project you do not need to be a trained therapist, social worker or helper.

You are a person who is good to talk to, who can listen and has the desire and opportunity to commit to conducting training with us in Queer friends, and conduct regular conversations every week with your assigned phone friend(s).

The Rainbow Phone – Sign up to get a rainbow friend

We humans need social contact, and a rainbow friend who calls once or twice a week can be appreciated by many – and needed – especially as we get older.
